FAQ
Collectors
PixlKey helps collectors receive artwork with clearer context: licence intent, provenance signals, and verification-friendly identifiers — without requiring you to trust a screenshot or a handshake.
What you can validate
PixlKey outputs are designed to make “what is this file?” easier to answer later — including attribution, declared licence intent, and identifiers that support a verification workflow.
What you receive
Creators can export a set of distribution-ready derivatives (not the raw original, unless they choose), alongside documentation-style artefacts that can travel with the work.
What PixlKey doesn’t do
PixlKey isn’t DRM and it can’t “prevent” misuse. It focuses on provenance signals and repeatable outputs that help establish what was issued, by whom, and under what declared licence.
Collector FAQs
-
How will artwork verification be presented?
Through a public-facing verification workflow that uses PixlKey identifiers and/or fingerprint outputs to confirm whether a given work (or derivative) matches what was issued. -
Where can collectors view licensing or provenance details?
Where shared by the creator, PixlKey provides licence/certificate-style artefacts and verification-ready identifiers that can be referenced later — useful for collectors, clients, or archivists. -
What formats are available for approved downloads?
PixlKey focuses on producing consistent, shareable derivatives (for preview, distribution, social, and verification use cases). The exact formats depend on what the creator exports and shares. -
If I receive an image online, can PixlKey prove it’s “the original”?
PixlKey can help verify whether an image matches a creator-issued output or fingerprint, but it can’t stop copies from existing. Think “verification and provenance signals,” not “copy prevention.” -
What should I ask a creator to include when delivering work?
Ask for the PixlKey-issued derivative(s) intended for distribution, plus any included licence/certificate artefacts or identifiers needed for later verification. -
Does PixlKey replace contracts or legal advice?
No — it supports clarity. Your purchase agreements and legal terms still matter; PixlKey helps keep the “paper trail layer” attached to the file set.
